Dare i say i'm winning on the S&S front

I meant to say so far so good on the snail and slug front, the copper tape is wicked stuff i watched a slug try to slither over it but as soon as he touched it he did an about turn, hurray for slug tape.

Its raining again yippee

Its been a while been since my last blog, i know i did promise i would blog everyday but i don't have that much free time and when i do i can't be bothered booting up the puter.
Anyway i'm here now, well lets see whats been happening, the lettuce is doing really well and it tastes divine(as divine as lettuce can taste), we've just been picking leaves here and there and i'm sure the lettuces like that cos they grow back so quickly.
the peas as a little less pleasing though we again ate one or two but i don't think they appreciated this cos now they seem to have stopped growing or perhaps i'm far too impatient, they did taste lovely though.
The spring onions are coming on too as is the rocket, beetroot not to bad either but my toms are crap they are just sat there not doing much at all what a let down.
Oh i nearly forgot, i thought that the slugs and snails were my swore enemy, but a member of the family, our dumb ass dog Flossy only jumped in my veg patch and dug up some rocket trying to hide her stupid bone. needless to say she got a good telling off and i think that its safe to say she won't be doing that again, talk about sulk, that was me sulking not the dog. Lol

Growbag

I can't believe that i forgot to write or type or blog whatever it is that i moved the tomatoes into a grow bag and i'm rather proud i hung a wall basket!! and planted a tomato plant in that so lets see how they go, i fed them too not to sure if i should have but hey!!!
Thats it i think, oh my sunflowers wow wow wow they are huge and the leaves look like something out of the Amazon they are amazing. need to get some photos.

I'm prepared....she says

After my little discovery this morning, i was determined to get those lil slimy gits and i've come prepared with copper tape and egg shells, i'm skint after buying the very over priced tape(gutted cos i found it later on e bay 6 rolls for 10 squid cost me 6 for 1 at garden centre the robbing gits) and we'll probably be egg bound with all the eggs we've eaten. but if it keeps the snails away it will be worth it.
so i wait ........

Snails and Slugs

Not impressed this morning just been to look at kids(my plants ) and the snails have been feasting on the Marigolds, the ironic thing is i got them so the snails would not come and eat, i read that they are supposed to keep unwanted bugs away from peas and lettuce maybe that's how it works, you get Marigolds and the snails fill up on them and then they are too full to eat owt else??? i don't know but i am declaring war on the said little gits. No free Lunch here or should i say midnight feast.
To be continued ..........

I did it !!!

The title is thanks to my 3yr old son, its his favorite phrase at the mo.
Well i did it, i finally after five years talking and dreaming, i started my own little veg patch.
it is not very big but it has got good quality soil and my plan is to be adventurous and fingers crossed organic.
may i say i know nothing about gardening its really trial and error with me and mostly error i reckon!
I have planted some sugar snap peas, beetroot, spring onions, lettuce and tomatoes. They've been in the ground now for five days and already I'm getting impatient, not because i want to eat them but because I'm so eager to see them grow. i feel like a child that goes to bed on Christmas eve and can't sleep with the thoughts of Santa coming.
So hopefully they will grow and i'll be all giddy and full of veg by the end of summer!!!!
